There may be financial benefits to hiring veterans as well. One such program is the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Service which can reimburse Employers for up to 50% of the Veteran’s salary for up to six months. Another is the federal tax incentive offered under the Work Opportunity Tax Credit which can contribute up to $2,400 per Veteran hired by companies.

In addition, Veterans have valuable background and security clearances that are required by many employer especially government contractors. More than 90% of military personnel have had background checks for various levels of security clearances.

Green Collar Vets work with educational institutions to equip Veterans with the tools necessary to obtain the training necessary to obtain a career in the green industry. We ask that Employers work with us to provide job opportunities for those who have served our country honorably.
